MECHANISM OF ACTION
Semax directly upregulates brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) — the primary proteins responsible for neuronal repair, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive performance. It also modulates the melanocortin system, increases dopamine and serotonin turnover in the prefrontal cortex, and exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects via downregulation of NF-κB. Unlike stimulants, it does not cause receptor downregulation or dependency.
